Go to your worksheet →A useful referral starts with a person's question and their permission. Flat98 helps internationally experienced professionals interpret their experience and explore professional opportunities, while helping employers consider that experience in context.
01
Recognize a useful moment to refer
Consider Flat98 when someone is struggling to translate experience after a move, exploring a career transition, or returning after time away. Employers may also benefit when unfamiliar backgrounds are difficult to assess.
Example: A professional has substantial experience but is unsure which local role categories reflect their capabilities.
02
Choose a suitable starting point
Public opportunities and Insights are free to explore. The Talent Community is free to join. The Career Diagnostic is a separate paid assessment for people seeking individual clarity. Review current service details with the person before referring.
Example: Someone with a clear target can start with opportunities. Someone asking where their experience fits can explore the Diagnostic.
03
Ask permission before introducing
Let the person contact Flat98 directly, or ask whether they would like a warm introduction. Agree what information to share and avoid sending a CV or sensitive personal details without permission.
Example: Would you like an introduction? If so, may I share your name, preferred contact details and a brief description of the question you would like help with?
04
Set expectations clearly
An introduction allows a conversation about fit and next steps. It does not guarantee an employer introduction, interview or job. Paid services do not buy preferential consideration for employer introductions.
Example: The next step is to establish which support, if any, is appropriate. Any paid service is a separate choice.
05
Keep the referral relationship clear
Discuss any formal referral arrangement with Flat98 separately. Referring someone does not automatically create a commercial partnership or grant access to their progress or personal information.
Example: If your organization would like a regular referral route, arrange a conversation about scope, consent and how the process should work.
